Symptom Management
Non-urgent symptom management will be supporting patients in the community that are experiencing side effects that do not require the emergency department. If you are unsure if you fall under this category please call us and you will be triaged to determine if you require admission via emergency department or outpatient management.
Education
Education will be a personalized education session around the cancer and the treatment. It will cover what to expect and how to manage side effects. This personalized time frame will allow you and your carers to ask questions and get to know your practitioner so that you feel comfortable to call with any concerns.
Prescription Services
Prescription services is for patients who require a repeat prescription for medications related to oncology and symptom management.
Follow up calls
This service will include a follow up call post cycle 1 of treatment to see how you are traveling and to answer any questions that you have. It will also cover follow up calls if you have presented to the emergency department or been discharged from hospital.
CVAD Management
Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD)s include PICCs and Ports. Management will focus on reviews of CVADs outside of the regular reviews within the DOU. This will include any concerns such as possible infections, pain, redness, swelling and any other concerns you have.
Oncology Wound Management
Wound management covers wounds that are caused by cancer or cancer treatment including radiation wounds and surgical wounds.
Survivorship Care
Cancer survivorship care is a comprehensive approach to the health and well-being of people who have completed cancer treatment. This will include an initial in person consult, and phone calls at certain stages post treatment to check on the patient. This will also include completing relevant referrals and follow up.
Coming Soon: Ascetic and Pleural drain management
This service will support those patients that require assistance draining their ascetic and pleural effusions. There will be two price categories, one for patients able to supply their own drainage kit and another for those who cannot supply a drainage kit.
Coming Soon: Influenza vaccination program
Influenza vaccination program will allow easy access to the annual influenza vaccination for you and you families. This will eliminate your need to wait at a GP or pharmacy.
Coming Soon: Nasogastric Insertion and Management
This service will be inserting a Nasogastric tube for nutritional support. This includes placement confirmation as well as management of any issues that arise regarding nasogastric tube management.
